ARTICLE I – THE HOLY BIBLE
We believe the Bible to be, not man’s account of his efforts to find God, but rather an account of God’s effort to reveal himself for man.
We believe that the Holy Bible was written by man; divinely inspired by God, influenced by the Holy Spirit, and that scriptures both old and new testaments contain all things necessary to salvation.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Every word of God is true, pure and unmingled with errors. Therefore, add not nor take anything away from the word of God. Words gathered from Revelation 22:18-19
ARTICLE II – GOD
We believe there is only one true and living God, the Father. He is revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; each with distinct personal attributes in power and glory, and undivided in essences.
St . John 10:30 – Jesus said: I and my father are one.
St. John 4:24 – God is a spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth See also Jeremiah 10:10
ARTICLE III – JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was with the Father in the beginning. In due time, begotten of the Holy Ghost, was incarnated to man’s nature in the womb of the virgin Mary, that He is truly man and truly God. St. John 1:14. And, the word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth. Luke 1:35; also 11, 12, 13.
We believe:
In His birth – Luke 2:7
In His death – Matthew 27:45-50
In His resurrection – Matthew 28:6
In His ascension – Acts 1:9
In His second advent – 1 Corinthians 15:31; 1 Thessalonians 4:14
ARTICLE IV – THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is of one substance, glory and majesty with the Father and the Son; that He is ever present and active, convicting the world of sin, regenerating those who repent and believe, sanctifying wholly those who consecrate and believe, and give ministering gifts to men as He will.
1 Corinthians 12:8-11 – For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gift of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues; but all these worketh that one and the same self Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. John 14:26; also, Ephesians 4:11.
ARTICLE V – THE FALL OF MAN
We believe that man was created in the image of God; but through the temptation of Satan, he transgressed the command of God, fell from his original holy state, whereby inherited a corrupt nature, and bondage to sin. Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die. See also Genesis 1:25
